Prof. Jestoni P. Babia, LPT, M.A.Ed., Ed.D.

Prof. Jestoni P. Babia, LPT, M.A.Ed., Ed.D., currently President of the City College of Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. His research mainly focuses on education, sustainable development, the SDGs, problem-based learning, and ICT integration. He received a Doctor of Education in Instructional System and Resource Management from the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R). He is an ESD National Consultant at the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNESCO Philippines) (March 2022–October 2022). He also holds many important positions, like ESD fellow of the Southeast Asian Ministers Education Organization (SEAMEO) from December 2021–December 2024, member of the RQAT (Regional Quality Assurance Team) Evaluator, Commission on Higher Education from June 2016–present, and Presidential Appointee, Visayas, Teacher Education Council (AY 2019–2023).

He also serves as the USJ-R ESD Center for Research, Training, and Development (June 2019–May 2023). In this research center, he designs plans, implements, and evaluates the USJ-R ESD Global Sustainability Plan for 2040 toward the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and ensures the implementation of the SDGs through research, training, and development initiatives of the USJ-R. He also serves as the Philippines’ representative for ESD-related SEAMEO programs in Southeast Asia. He participates in SEAMEO ESD events for Southeast Asia, such as policy framework creation, the presentation of new ESD initiatives, and collaboration efforts.
